Academic Support

McKinsey staff are here to make sure you succeed. We have an open-door policy and multi-lingual staff available to answer your questions, to assist you with adapting your program or choosing your courses, and to provide you with guidance and advice to reach your goals. Here are some of our academic support services:

Level Placement:
On your first day of classes, you will have a written test and interview. The orientation coordinator will review your placement score with you and will help select your classes. During your first week, you will have a short counseling with the Academic Coordinator to ensure your program is on the right track.

Academic Counseling:
At any time during your program, you will have opportunity to request an academic counseling with the Academic Coordinator. McKinsey College has an open door policy and encourages students to discuss their programs with teachers and advisors whenever questions arise. Feel free to arrange a session with the Academic Coordinator to discuss your classes, academic progress, or future study plan.

Course Changes:
If you would like to request a course change, please schedule a counseling session with the Academic Coordinator. All requests need to be approved before changes take place. Entrance requirements, scheduled start dates, and student number will affect when changes will occur. Please note: approved changes may not occur immediately, but will at the first available start date.

Personal Review Sessions:
On the last day of a course, your instructor will schedule an individual session with you to review your progress, offer advice for future study, and answer any questions that you may have about learning English or the course completed. At this session, your instructor will inform you of your next class.

Course and Program Feedback:
At the end of each month, you will be asked to complete school and class evaluations. You will have the opportunity to comment on many aspects of McKinsey College and we encourage students to take this chance to comment on things that are important to you and your classmates. Responses are confidential but a summary report is used for discussion at the monthly staff meeting and for improving our educational program.
